Dorothy

Charis is ready to go trick or treating! :O)~ We weren't going to go this year, but decided I'd go ahead and dress her up and wander around our complex. She made out like a bandit and Mama is really happy about all the chocolate that she can't eat! heehee

Eye Candy

I work at the Nike World Headquarters and this campus is SO amazing! Every morning these days I'm in awe and amazement at what the colors are doing to the scenery. Here's a little bitty that I park by every day. Stay tuned to my photo blog for more pictures! I collected a bunch from one small portion of the campus. There's a whole lot more campus to cover! And its all worth covering! :O)

Little Bitty Sneaks

I love these shoes! They are my favorite, but they're not my favorite to put on my Little Miss. The heal is soft and the girl is wiggly and well...it's an adventure that really needs a miniature shoe horn.

In God We Trust

It saddens me that we have new money being made that is void of the words 'In God We Trust'. After all, it is God who created wealth. When I find a penny on the ground, I take a moment to ponder the One who provides. Always.

Deuteronomy 8:18 But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today.

Kind Words

Proverbs 16:24 Kind words are like honey; sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.

There's nothing like the written word of affirmation or encouragement. :O) It can be kept and savored for days when the weather is a little blue, to bring the sunshine out in your soul. It's so simple, yet so profound.

Oct 27

Drop someone a little beam of sunshine today! :O)

Very Cool Tree

I had a Senior photo shoot today and I'm telling you...I have been so blessed with the weather for my shoots! It could not have been a more beautiful day! High 60s and not a cloud in the sky. A perfect breeze that is SO great for the subtle hair blowing of brilliant pictures! Wee!

We came across this really cool tree! I love old trees with lotsa character like this one. Add cool (warm?) Fall colors and some tall grass...makes for a pretty groovy back drop for pics.

Charis

Charis loves to be ou'siyde. She sat on the front sidewalk for quite a while picking up leaves and smooshing them or picking them apart one little piece at a time. One of those moments I could just sit there and watch her for hours. :O)

Shepherd's Door

Today I was able to get off work a little bit early. I asked the Lord what He would like me to do with my day...and He said Shepherd's Door, which is a part of the Portland Rescue Mission that houses homeless women and children. I have a collection of clothes I've had boxed up and ready to go. Today was a good day to get them delivered!

Job 31:16-30
16 "If I have denied the desires of the poor or let the eyes of the widow grow weary,
17 if I have kept my bread to myself, not sharing it with the fatherless-
18 but from my youth I reared him as would a father, and from my birth I guided the widow-
19 if I have seen anyone perishing for lack of clothing, or a needy man without a garment,
20 and his heart did not bless me for warming him with the fleece from my sheep,
21 if I have raised my hand against the fatherless, knowing that I had influence in court,
22 then let my arm fall from the shoulder, let it be broken off at the joint.

Willowtree Angels

Here's some more of my Willowtree angels.

The first is a box for wishes. I'm going to start placing little pieces of rolled up paper inside with wishes...to view at a later time...as proof that God answers prayers. :O)

The second (middle) is the angel of caring.

The third is the angel of friendship.

Little Bitty Fowees

I'm not an arborist or a green thumb or know anything about flowers or foliage in general...so I'm not sure what kinda little purple flower it is. Or the ground cover that it was found amidst. But isn't it a cute little purple flower? :O) It was the only little purple flower in the whole patch of ground cover around the base of a tree outside my condo.

My daughter calls flowers, fowees, with a long eeee. :O) She promptly picked the cute little fowees right off its stem, after I took a picture of it. You ever used to sing that little song...'Mama had a baby and her HEAD popped off' when you were a kid, when popping the flower off a dandelion? Yeah...sounds a little morbid now that I've recited it again...

My Utmost For His Highest

This is the devotional above all devotionals (for me). I've been reading it for I think three years now. I know someone whose had hers since she was saved 25 years ago...and it is still so very relevant and pointed EVERY SINGLE DAY!!

Oct 20

Habakkuk 2:1-3
I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint. Then the LORD replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.

Oswald wrote years and years before our time, but the Word of God and words from the Lord are not bound by time and will be relevant always.

Law of Reflection

So...I'm cheating a little bit. (Is it still cheating if I tell on myself?) I didn't have a chance to take a picture today. So I'll 'borrow' one from Saturday. Had a little girls gathering and caught this of my sweet hostess, Kim.

Light is known to behave in a very predictable manner. If a ray of light could be observed approaching and reflecting off of a flat mirror, then the behavior of the light as it reflects would follow a predictable law known as the law of reflection.

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another...

Romans 8:29
For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to (reflection of) the likeness of his Son...

Hands

I had a short photo shoot with my friend Marie today. We'll be finishing up next weekend. More of those pics will be on my other blog. I learned a new trick today, though! LOVE THIS FRAMING! :O) I like how the picture kinda looks like it is hovering off the frame.

Oct 19

I also love taking pictures of people's hands... I don't know why. Cuz they do so much, I suppose. :O)

Proverbs 31 - The Virtuous Woman...and her hands...

31:13 She looks for wool and flax And works with her hands in delight. (She works joyfully)

31:19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hands grasp the spindle. (She is diligent)

31:20 She extends her hand to the poor, And she stretches out her hands to the needy. (She is compassionate and generous)

31:31 Give her the product of her hands, And let her works praise her in the gates. (She is honored)

5 Rock Ranch

Today Charis and I went to 5 Rock Ranch in Yamhill, OR. What an amazing place!

Isaiah 1:17 learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.

5 Rock Ranch is a heavenly and peaceful place on earth for all those who are fatherless, and for single moms (essentially, widows). The website and anything anybody can say about it cannot fully grasp the amazing presence of God and family at this ranch. If you ever have the opportunity to go for a visit, I would encourage everyone to go; just to feel it. I will with absolute certainty be going back to learn more and spend a great deal more time there.

Sunset

This was an amazing sunset that I couldn't get to fast enough. I wanted to get a fuller picture but the munchkin was in the tub and then of course, being the responsible mum that I am...can't go too far from her when she's in the tub!

Fall

Fall is definitely in the air, but there aren't a lot of trees in my neighborhood that are turning yet. I did find this little feller...had to kinda step into someone's front yard to take it. :O) I don't think they noticed. heehee

Oct 15[1]

Two photos for today...I couldn't resist. You don't think I point the camera at her very much, do ya? She POSES for me. :O)~

Angel of Hope

I collect Willowtree Angels. :O) Love them.

John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

John 3:16

I think about this a lot...God loved the world so much, that He gave His Son...In the limited capacity of my human'ness...I cannot comprehend how vast this love is. Could I love something/someone so much that I would sacrifice my daughter? If it meant saving them?

Charis

Is it so wrong to gush unceasingly about one's child? :O) Sometimes I'm just overwhelmed that I've been blessed with such an amazing little person. I just want to gobble her up! :O) Today she is 20 months and...2 weeks and 5 days. :)

Thank you Lord, for blessings beyond measure!

Haystack Rock

Never ever ever in my entire life that I have lived in Oregon, have I seen a blue sky over Cannon Beach first thing in the morning. It's not that it doesn't happen...but as anyone knows in Oregon, the more common expectation is a lot of wind and clouds and at least fog first thing in the morning. Today was nothing short of AMAZING! And there's nothing like strolling along an untouched beach first thing in the morning.

Happy Birthday to me!

Just before 1:00pm on this day, 35 years ago, I took my first breath. A lot of time has passed since then...a lot of things I don't remember or recall. We can lose instances even in a month, or week or day! Today, I will start a photo project for a full 365 days. What fullness does a year contain? I hope to capture it...one photo...one day at a time.

Today, I am so happy to go to the beach. My friend Deb, Charis and I stayed in Cannon Beach, OR at a rental cabin. You couldn't see the beach from the cabin, but just a short trail straight up behind the cabin...and this...

Oct 10

Breathtaking. :)

We arrived a bit later than anticipated and I'd have just stayed in and gotten settled, but I felt this overwhelming compulsion to just go look at the beach before I turned in. I'm so glad I did.

Thank you God, for bringing me to life...to witness the beauty of your creation.
